Fae Baller
But I couldn't figure out how to put on my elf ears!
Yesterday I went to the Fae Ball in Kansas City, MO, which has a special place in my heart as my dear friend Liz is from KC and we were here for her wedding…nineteen years ago!
I was VERY CONFUSED when I walked into the Convention Center - it was all dudes in camouflage with their sons! LOL! I was like…this is the Fae Ball??!! Until I saw this sign. Thank you sign!
The first person I met was Bishop, who is a huge fan of mine and drove three hours from Wichita to see me. She has signed books from when I visited Wichita in 2009!!! She was in middle school then, she is now a grown married lady which is odd because I am still the same age as in 2009. HAHAHA! Hi Bishop!!!
There were a bunch of die hard Blue Bloods and Rings of Fate fans who drove all the way from Wichita, also Georgia, and I forget the other states I’m sorry! But it was lovely to meet you all! I had to scoot back to the event as I thought it ended at 2pm and noooo it ended at 3pm so I had to hoover up my late lunch and skeedadle back to my table. I have a hard time with dates. People have shown up to my house for a party and I’m not home because I gave them the wrong date. This has happened MORE THAN ONCE. AUGH!
Also, I didn’t know I had to decorate my table. This is my friend author Tricia Levenseller’s table. Beneath is my table. LOL. A nice author next to me, Paige Lavoie, lent me a sharpie and a piece of paper so people could see who I was and get their books signed.
Then I did a panel! We were all proud Red Tower authors. It was SO FUN to meet them because at the end, Geneva said BUT WE HAVEN’T EVEN TALKED ABOUT SEX! And we are Romantasy writers! They are hilarious and sassy and oh ho ho we talked about sex (in our books!). As a middle-grade Disney writer, I still get a little nervous when we talk about sex! But I have to say it’s really fun to be in this genre with all these hilarious, sex-positive, talented ladies. I ordered all their books because hello who doesn’t want to read about SEX!

Then it was time to get ready for the FAE BALL. My hair and makeup stylists “do” the fancy Hunt girls, whose family owns the Kansas City Chiefs. I literally SQUEALED when I put two and two together and realized where I was and EHMAGAWD WHERE ARE TAYLOR AND TRAVIS??? So I badgered everyone for tidbits about them. So apparently when they were first dating, people would be able to see TayTay around KC, but now her security is so tight and you never see her. Everyone says they are super nice always, just like, good people, which makes me happy. Because we’re all rooting for our girl to have a nice hubs and a nice life.
Here is my Fae Ball lewk. I bought this Chloe dress two years ago because I just, I just wanted to look that cool. It was ridiculously expensive, but of course I never wore it. So thank goodness for the Fae Ball.

Here are some more fun photos from the Ball!

Anyway, Kansas City is awesome. It was so nice to see my friend Mindy who was an editor at Random House when I was starting out. She tried to get her boss to buy my book of essays! Mindy and I now each have 19 year old girls which is crazy cos we were just 25 ourselves???
Next weekend I am at Fan Fusion Phoenix! We will fuse!
XOXO

Love the Chloe dress! Very ethereal & fae-like.
